East of the Rockies, the Elgin shape is the most common size butter stick and you will likely find many brands to choose from.

West of the Rocky Mountains, you will also find butter "cubes" in what is called the Western-Pack shape.  The "cube" size has a width of 1.5" and will not work with the current model of the One Click Butter Cutter. However, in almost all supermarkets you can still find the correct butter stick size. Look for the brand names Land O'Lakes, Organic Valley, and European Style Challenge Butter.

In Canada, the company Lactantia produces 125 gram butter sticks that are the perfect size for the One Click Butter Cutter. They even produce garlic butter that is just the right size for the One Click Butter Cutter!

NOTE: The butter stick should slide easily into the One Click Butter Cutter. If you find yourself having to push the butter in, you are using the incorrect size. 

2. Do you have any tips for using the One Click Butter Cutter?

The One Click Butter Cutter is designed to work perfectly when you hold it with your thumb on the front resting position as you squeeze the One Click Butter Cutter to cut the perfect pat. Squeeze slowly until the blade is cutting into the butter and then squeeze as quickly as possible (using one or two hands). Usually the slices will fly off but if they stick a little just shake the Butter Cutter a little until the slice releases. Do not release until the slice has come off.
