The One Click Butter Cutter

A Divided Nation?

You Butter Believe It!

Do you buy a cube of butter or a stick of butter?  It all depends upon where you live.  In the Eastern United States, butter is sold in long, skinny sticks.  In the Western United States, butter is most often sold in fat cubes.

It is no surprise that there are large political and cultural variations across the United States, since the U.S. is so large in size, covering over 3.5 million square miles. But who would have thought that the size of butter that is sold would be so different?  Even national brands like Land O'Lakes have different sizes based upon where you live.

In the East, all Land O'Lakes butter is the Eastern stick shape. In the West, some Land O'Lakes is the Eastern shape and some of it is the Western shape.

The original One Click Butter Cutter was designed to handle the Eastern-shape sticks, and if you live East of the rocky mountains, your grocery store probably has lots of varieties of butter to choose from that will all work easily with the Butter Cutter. The Eastern-style stick shape is also called the Elgin shape, named after the the Elgin Butter Company, of Elgin, Illinois which was founded in 1871.

However, if you live West of the Rockies, finding the right size butter can be a real grocery store challenge.  It is possible to do so - Organic Valley butter is the right size, as is European Style Challenge Butter and some varieties of Land O'Lakes.

A New One Click Butter Cutter is Now Being Made!

Sales for the One Click Butter Cutter have taken off, and people West of the Rockies would love to have a Butter Cutter that easily works with their butter cubes.  Therefore, a new One Click Butter Cutter is in production, and soon it will be available nationwide.  If you would like to use the Butter Cutter with butter cubes of Darigold, Tillamook, Lucerne, and other brands sold in the West - a Butter Cutter will soon be ready for you, too!

Not sure?  Measure your butter.  If the width is less than 1 3/8" inch and the length is less than 5", then your butter will work in the original One Click Butter Cutter, currently being sold on this website.
